Jo Breeden

Chief Executive Officer

Jo has been at the helm of Crystal since 2007, a fully qualified Accountant, with extensive expertise in commercial finance, lending strategies, and client relationship management. Jo’s forward-thinking approach, and commitment to service excellence, has transformed the company into one of the UK’s leading providers of broker financial solutions, delivering complex specialist finance.

Jo has been instrumental in product range expansion; bridging, buy-to-let, development finance, and commercial mortgages. He’s lead two company re-brands, reinforcing Crystal’s market position as “The Clear Choice” for our target audience, delivering Year-on-Year growth. Jo is a proud family man, has three children, two pet dogs, and is an avid supporter of Aston Villa FC.

Kris Corns

Operations Director

Kris is one of Crystal’s longest serving individuals, having joined in 2007, from Nationwide BS, and he’s spent the last 17 years applying extensive knowledge across all departments within the business. This has provided invaluable perspective on the overall client journey, and the ideal skillset and acumen for his current role of Operations Director.

Passionate about problem solving and simplifying all matters, Kris utilises his skills, logic and experience, alongside a degree in Economics and Mathematical Science, to focus on delivering the best outcomes achievable for all clients. He’s a tough-mudder, a keen Liverpool fan, and father to one daughter.

Jason Berry

Group Sales Director

Jason joined Crystal 2020. He has extensive board-level experience gained across lender, distributor, and fintech insurer Companies. Beginning his career as a Financial Adviser he moved into account management with Platform Home Loans and led the sales channel to over £4b of specialist lending completions in 2007.

During his tenure as Director of Sales at Uinsure, exponential growth was evident and multiple industry awards attained. A recognised thought leader, Jason is committed to making Crystal the UK’s most recommended distributor. He’s Co-Founder of the Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter (MIMHC) and an enthusiastic advocate of the topic. A proud father of three, he enjoys padel tennis and supports Manchester City FC.

Toby Breeden

New Business Director

Toby joined Crystal in 2009, after studying Business Management at university. Given 16 years’ experience in specialist finance, Toby can build upon his strong relationships with lenders, guaranteeing that Crystal gets access to the best deals at exclusive rates. Toby leads his team from the front in ensuring they qualify and prime all leads into the operation, turning new business into completions.

Having worked across most areas of the business, including marketing, sales, and underwriting, Toby is exceptionally well qualified to steer Crystal’s new business requirements. Outside of work Toby supports Aston Villa FC and is partial to a bit of Minnesota Vikings NFL.

Richard Bond

Personal Finance Director

Rich joined Crystal in 2015, with over 20 years of experience in the mortgage industry, gained as a Financial Adviser for mortgages and protection for the Openwork intermediary network. He has overseen regulatory aspects at Crystal since then, including the implementation of key regulatory milestones like GDPR, SM&CR, and Consumer Duty.

This in-depth compliance expertise ensures that regulation within Crystal drives positive customer outcomes whilst meeting exacting standards. Rich is committed to enhancing customer experiences alongside facilitating business growth. Outside of work he is a proud dad to three kids, and an avid Aston Villa supporter.

Gareth Shilton

Group Strategy Director

Gareth brings a wealth of experience in all business disciplines to Crystal, with a long-standing career in financial services, having joined Ocean Finance in 1994, in sales. Promoted to General Manager in 1997, becoming CEO by 2009, he held an impressive tenure which extended until the sale to Think Money Group in 2012, wherein he maintained a Directorship until 2018. Since leaving Ocean, Gareth has provided consultancy services in various sectors.

Father of two boys, in his spare time, he loves being in the countryside walking his beloved spaniel Ruby, with partner Julie, and is a self-confessed petrol head, passionate about motorcycling, track days and MotoGP.

Dan joined Crystal in 2016, following six years at HSBC, to develop Intermediary Network and Mortgage Club relationships with his expertise across all aspects of specialist finance and complex lending. A key advocate of Crystal, Dan’s vast experience means when it comes to placing tricky cases for all kinds of non-standard properties and complex scenarios, there’s a solution to be found.

Supported at Crystal by a multi-award-winning team for bridging, commercial and development finance, complex buy to lets, second charge loans and specialist residential means Dan can help provide a solution for almost any case! Dan is daddy to two young children, Lewie the dog, supports Middlesbrough FC, and is an avid skier.

Satwant Bhandal

Corporate Sales Director

Sat joined Crystal in 2020, with 15 years of experience in banking and finance, leading our Corporate Sales. He has expertly facilitated a multitude of successful deals for both individuals and businesses, securing finance for property acquisitions, and longer term investments.

With a thorough understanding of the mortgage market, real estate, and access to a wide network of lenders, Sat and his team at Crystal are committed to connecting clients with the best bespoke funding solutions and structures. Whether purchasing a new property, refinancing an existing one, or unlocking equity for further investments. Proud father of one son, a keen golfer and an avid Man United supporter.
