The Role: Junior Compliance Officer

As a Junior Compliance Officer, you'll play a key role in reviewing regulated mortgage files to help ensure compliance, improve the customer journey, and support advisers to deliver compliant, customer-first outcomes. You'll work closely with teams across the business, providing clear, constructive feedback and help guide cases through our compliance framework with accuracy, consistency and care. 

What you’ll do:

• Conduct thorough review of mortgage applications and files, ensuring all necessary documentation and checks are in place to meet FCA regulations.

• Ensure that the mortgage advice provided and associated record keeping, complies with regulations, internal policies and industry standards.

• Identify potential compliance issues, poor customer outcomes or areas of risk.

• Plan and facilitate targeted actionable feedback on compliance related matters to improve individual and team performance.

• Support day to day compliance activities including delivery of the Monitoring Plan.

• Develop and maintain high-trust relationships that reinforce a culture of quality and accountability.

• Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of mortgage regulations and industry changes.

What We’re Looking For

• At least 12 months experience in similar mortgage quality control/mortgage compliance role.

• CeMap or Equivalent Qualification (Highly Desirable).

• Must have adequate knowledge of FCA regulations (MCOB and Consumer Duty).

• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

• Ability to manage workload and approval workflows, independently and within a team.

•           Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.

•          Knowledge of mortgage systems and software is a plus.
