Underwriter

To manage all new loan enquiries from initial enquiry through to application. This will be achieved through establishing and maintaining positive relationships with all parties, learning and understanding lender criteria, to deliver criteria updates to team members, managing case files, collecting and assessing application forms and valuation fees. This may involve managing a small specialist case load through to completion as appropriate.

LOCATION: Tamworth

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities for new business (New Inbound Enquiries and place good quality business to lenders & providers)
  • Maintain excellent product and criteria knowledge
  • Work towards agreed SLAs – both individually and in your team
  • Able to take ownership and drive delivery of performance
  • Adhere & embody all industry regulations and standards
  • to liaise with team manager on all issues
  • Demonstrate core Crystal values and behaviours
  • Provide feedback on team, other departments, competitors, lenders and brokers

Skills, Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience Required

  • Previous experience of working in a regulated or specialist finance environment advantageous
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • CeMap or equivalent qualification (desirable but not required)
  • Ability to gain understanding of Product knowledge and/or regulation
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal including superb telephone manner
  • Stakeholder management – relationship building with internal and external partners by maximising every interaction
  • Proven experience in providing excellent customer service and understanding of TCF
  • Proven sales track record
  • Working to a high degree of accuracy
